I am an art director, artist, and designer for cinematic experiences that blend emerging and traditional methods*. I aim for a tactile sensibility within the digital, and to integrate principles of well-being and psychology into spatial design and world-building. I have applied art, animation, and cinematic storytelling to immersive projection, VR, AR, short films, games, and as an educator at the University of Southern California, Oregon State University, and currently as an Assistant Professor of Emerging Media at Occidental College. My broad skillset allows me to translate across disciplinary teams and to wear multiple hats in both hands-on and supervisory mentoring roles. My work has received recognition from HBO Films, the Student Academy Awards, Sundance, the Venice Biennale, Sloan Science & Film Foundation, SXSW, and more. I completed my MFA in Animation and PhD in Media Arts + Practice from USC. My design research is additionally informed by experiential futures training at the Institute for Futures Thinking, neuroscience, years of Tibetan Vajrayana visualization and Zen practice, and Wayfinder training with Martha Beck. I approach both teaching and creative projects as designed experiences with instructional goals that prioritize the emotional, sensory, and spirited alongside the intellectual.
